West Oahu residents from as far away as Waianae came together on July 12 to enjoy Kapolei Shopping Center’s UKULELE JAM, a free live concert featuring a great line-up of award-winning ukulele artists. They included Kuana Torres Kahele, winner of 19 Na Hoku awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and 2014 Song of the Year, “E Ku‘ulei, My Love”; award-winning Kamakakehau Fernandez, whose debut solo CD “Wahi Mahalo” earned a 2013 Na Hoku Award; and Heart & Soul, who regularly perform at Disney Aulani Resort & Spa and won the 2011 Hawaii Music Award for Island Contemporary Album of the Year. There were even some impromptu hula performances as the music played!

Prize drawings and keiki activities added to the fun. Congratulations to Margarita H., winner of the grand prize drawing: A Ko Aloha ukulele.
