On January 27th we continue our tradition of welcoming the Lunar New Year with a lively troupe of lion dancers – a fun family event. Get the details below along with other ideas to get a fresh start on the new year.
Leaping lions! Let’s Celebrate the Lunar New Year!
Sat, Jan. 27 | 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Free family event
Join the celebration as Kapolei Shopping Center welcomes the Chinese Lunar New Year with lion dancers and store blessings.
The fun begins at 10:30 a.m. near Sushi Bay where members of Wah Ngai Lion Dance Association will demonstrate their athleticism during a special table-jumping performance. Then follow the troupe as they make their way through the center to bless merchant locations and summon good fortune for the new year. Complimentary fortune cookies and red lai see envelopes will be passed out while supply lasts.
Bring your camera, “feed” the lions, and help us welcome the Year of the Dragon!
